Museum Benefit

Since its inception in 1999, the unwavering dream of Valley Children's Museum has been to open wide the doors of its own home and welcome families into a world of discovery. Partnering with the City of Dublin has helped bring that dream closer than ever to fruition.

In April 2006, the Dublin City Council voted to include Valley Children's Museum in its Camp Parks development which was born of a real property exchange between the U.S. Army and the City of Dublin. The Museum is slated to be an integral part of a 46-acre parcel designated for recreational and civic facilities area within the 187-acre Camp Parks project, with up to 2 ½ acres dedicated to the children’s museum.

The frontage property runs along Dublin Boulevard, with easy access to the Dublin BART station and the 580/680 corridor. The common themes for the park area will be arts and culture, food and games.

Upon receiving the Dublin City Council approval and financial support from Sybase, the Board of Directors of Valley Children's Museum initiated several actions. Conceptual planning for the Museum has begun, with Building Design and Exhibit Strategy Committees recently formed. The Board is refining its study of children’s museums from around the country so that Valley Children’s Museum can be the best of the best!

"We are thrilled that Dublin can provide such a central location for a Tri-Valley Children's Museum. The museum fits with our vision for Dublin as a center for family-oriented activities. The Tri-Valley mayors strongly support the museum's mission. Momentum in the community is already building. We look forward to the museum doors opening in the near future."
