Sybase Becomes Founding Sponsor,
Hosts Announcement Event

Sybase Chairman, CEO and President John Chen presented a check to Valley Children’s Museum for $25,000 on April 27, 2006. The presentation was made at the Museum’s site announcement event hosted by Sybase. Mr. Chen spoke to the 70+ guests and press about the Museum, seeing it as a great asset for the Tri-Valley community.

Sybase, Inc., is a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software. Dublin is home to Sybase headquarters, adjacent to the Camp Parks property where the Museum will be built. There are over 700 Sybase employees and their families living in and around Dublin.

All five Tri-Valley Mayors (Danville, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon) were present at the Announcement Event and shared their thoughts on the importance of the Museum to the Tri-Valley. Mayor Janet Lockhart of Dublin, a long-time supporter and Advisory Board member, shared her enthusiasm for the location selection and support by the Dublin City Council. Mayor Abram Wilson, San Ramon, couldn’t wait for the doors to open to take his grandchildren.
