HOLIDAY HOME TOUR 2005 - RUBY HILL
Valley Children's Museum enjoyed the hospitality of the Ruby Hill community and raised funds for the future learning facility to be built in the heart of the Tri-Valley.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, six Ruby Hill homeowners opened their unique homes, elegantly decorated in a variety of styles, for visitors from the Tri-Valley and neighboring communities. Each home featured musical entertainment by children, refreshments, a gift boutique, and of course, the main attraction - the personal collections of the homeowners.
Event sponsors included the Tri Valley Herald, the Pleasanton Lions Club, and Standard Pacific Homes. Gloria Jean's Coffees of Stoneridge Mall donated the coffee and tea to accompany refreshments provided by the Pleasanton Hotel, Gourmade, Whole Foods and Brownie Troup 2349 (for their home-made brownies, of course!).
Special activity featured at individual homes included shrimp and vegetable stir fry on the built-in teppan yaki stove at the Cliff home by Jan Sullivan of Alain Pinel and Jim Ramsey. Designer Carol Franco demonstrated holiday decoration techniques.
The Holiday Home Tour ended at Tenuta Winery for wine tasting along with more treats, shopping, entertainment and drawing for prizes. In all $10,000 was raised to further the development of Valley Children's Museum.
More than 40 volunteers, including mother/daughter teams from the National Charities League, donated their time to plan and execute the event which exceeded attendance expectations of 300 attendees.
Valley Children's Museum extends its warm thanks to Ruby Hill residents and especially to the Home Tour hosts: Adam and Colleen Schwartz, Perry and Carlae Hayes, Bill and Natalie Cliff, Paul and Linda Salsgiver, Jim and Debbie Murphy and Bill and Shannon Ballowe.
